Did I Mention ?

look i will get over it but for now i am a little bit over excited
i need some help with my New York trip
we have been before and kind of done the major touristy things
with two weeks in the Big Apple i need to find some stuff to do
so i thought i would ask for some input
nothing works better than personal recommendation

what is your favourite thing to do or see in New York?
naturally we want to do a bit of shopping but we have done the whole Saks 5th Ave / Bloomingdales for all those knicks and knacks FAO Schwarz for all the toys in the world etc ... so maybe you know of amazing stores that we should find

we have done the Brooklyn Bridge / Empire State / Central Park thing ... but maybe there is something off beat and cool that we should check out

Been inside Radio City / checked out the lobby of the Chrysler building / had drinks on a balcony in Grand Central Station ... maybe there is a little corner of Gotham that only you know about

eaten breakfast in a New York Diner (with 'more kaafee')/lunched in Saks / Dinner in Guastavoni's (Conran Restaurant) in the first week it opened with a UN Ambassador/supper at Ellen's Stardust Diner where the waiters sing broadway show tunes while you eat ... but perhaps there is a dining experience that you could point me towards

don't get me wrong there is no way i am gonna be bored or anything it's just that if i can't take you all with me at least you can get involved :)

When we were there we had breakfast at the Star Diner, just up from Radio City on the corner of 7th Avenue and ?? towards Central park. Go have a breakfast coffee and pancakes for me!!!!!

Helicopter flight around New York is quite good fun if you haven't done it before. Also, take a visit to Staten Island. Take a trip to the City Library - totally different to rest of city. Would have said Ellen's Stardust Diner as easily one of the best places to go. There's loads of gallerys/museums - worth going to the Met if you haven't been before, also the Museum of Modern Art.

Rockefeller centre now has its own roof top viewing station and you can ice skate at ground level outside. Also, the NBC tour is OK at the Rockefeller centre.

If you like Italian food I can recommend a really good restaurant the upper east side which is frequented by various film stars.

Speaking of musicals, I saw Spamalot there but you coud do that in London now and not sure if it would meet your ideals of a good musical.

Hmmm, what to do in New York! I enjoyed Staten Island...but then I love that whole history thing. I remember finding some good cafe's around Greenwich village area, but have no ideas of names or where exactly they are. Never visited any of the museums, so no opinion on that. As for the NBC tour, we did that on a school trip when I was 15 and it was fun then....
I'm sure you'll have a great time & I'll miss seeing you!
