well we managed to slip carefully over the border into Norfolk ... more importantly we managed to get out again ... and pab i love the comment you made ... i can now concur that there was little where we were ... very early sunday i thought i would go and get papers for us all and i wandered out into the village only to find that there was nothing there ... nothing at all ... no shops ... panic attack ... walked back got car and drove to what passes for civilisation
a group of friends spent the weekend having heavy conversations and developing and shaping a new charity to help survivors of abuse http://www.svox.org.uk i think it will be a force for good in the world. It certainly has some good people. I love it when you sit with others and explore things and people say profound stuff ... tempered with making you feel inadequate and feeling like you can't keep up ... we were the guests of a bishop and his wife and the house and gardens were amazing ... such a peaceful rambling stunning space to be able to do this thing ... didn't have enough money with me to buy the house off them sadly
Mr Bishop asked me if i had ever been thought about being ordained ... i have never thought about it but lots of people have thought about it for me :) ... i have no intention whatsoever ... it is not something i have ever felt the need to do ... it gets suggested all the time every step of the way and it drives me crazy ... i guess sometimes it feels like it is something people think would contain me ... i am sure they mean well but i have enough trouble engaging with the church from here without being that inside it :)
took us five hours to get home ... hate driving on sunday evenings in this country ... a 16 year old travelling with us asked if there was another road we could use ... we told her this was the only road out of Norfolk and that's why it was full because this was all the people trying to get out of Norfolk ... well it amused me
i love the fact that we are fast approaching christmas ... i love christmas ... i have to shop because i have to buy pressies ... hurrah ... i love decorations and the mood and the music and everything ... and before all that i also get my birthday more pressies but not so many decorations
a busy day ahead of writing and meetings but first a decent cup of coffee and kiss the wife goodbye

But then again Steve do you really want to encourage the imaginings of the mad front desk lady who 'numbers her box'?...
;-)
Steve darling...as you're not going to be ordained and will therefore have time on your hands ;-), would you like to do my Christmas shopping for me?? I mean, if you actually enjoy it.....I'm feeling all wobbly at the very thought this year.
One thought, are vicars allowed to drive Saab convertibles?
While you're out shopping for Kathryn, could you do mine as well? And I don't know about Vicars and Saab convertibles, but if I get any more points on my licence for speeding, I won't be able to drive anything at all... ;)
